Gobblers looked very good with their ace, Tyler Arndt on the mound in the final game. Arndt gave up 4 hits and 1 run in a complete game 10K performance. Arndt also finished 10-14 with 8 doubles in the Tournament. Thibideaux, Tanner Hoffman, Klent Forester, and Ryan Barrientez had a solid tourney. Thibideaux hit his 1st Homerun of the season vs El Campo. The one thing that Cuero has been struggling with is consistency at the catcher position. Freshman, Dustin Ohrt, who played with the Gobbler Select summer team caught the last game vs Floresville. Their was no passed balls and only one wild pitch allowed and no stolen bases. The kid did a phenomenal job in his first varsity start. Ohrt is still a little young and will make a few freshman mistakes, but it looks as if the Gobblers may have a potential 4 year catcher on their team. Give this team a little time and they may make a deep run in the playoffs.
